The course provides an overview of technologies, especially artificial intelligence technologies, used to analyze, manage and profitably exploit both large amounts of data (big data) and smaller-scale data. The course includes theoretical and practical parts and is conducted from a learning-by-doing perspective, with examples of the application of analytics technologies in real-world scenarios, such as industrial projects, public administration procedures or social contexts.
Participants will gain specialized statistical and artificial intelligence knowledge in the field of "data analytics." In particular we will focus on:
The course will include a theoretical part, introducing statistical methods and artificial intelligence algorithms, and an application part, in which participants will learn to use specific soware packages for the mentioned analyses.
The lecturers will be researchers and technologists from Smart Data Factory, the technology transfer laboratory of the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano.
South Tyrolean companies and professionals can take advantage of a contribution from the European Social Fund to cover the cost of the course.
The course lasts 16 hours spread over 4 mornings, from 9 am to 1 pm.
We are organizing 3 editions at NOI Techpark, on these dates:
Each edition will have 6 to 8 participants.
The language of the course will be either Italian or English, depending on the needs of the participants.
Floriano Zini is an academic technologist at Smart Data Factory, the technology transfer laboratory of the Faculty of Computer Science at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. Over the past 10 years, his research activity has focused on the design, development and evaluation of mobile and web-based information systems for personalized health care. Personalization is achieved through the application of Human Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence methodologies and algorithms, particularly Machine Learning. Floriano holds a Ph.D. in computer science and has authored about 60 scientific papers on e-health, personalized information systems, grid computing, multiagent systems and evolutionary computing. According to Google Scholar, his h-index is 21.
